The next regular meeting of the Noble Local Board
will be November 15, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building

The Board Meeting began at 6:32 p.m. and Board Members Ms. Bates, Mr. Crum, Mr. Parks, Mr. McKee, and Mrs. Nau were present.
The Board went into Executive Session at 8:26 p.m. The minutes were approved from the regular September meeting. The Treasurer’s monthly financial statements were also approved along with a schedule of payroll dates.
Administrative Reports/Updates were given by:
- Lucy Bates shared the Mid-East Vocational Bulletin and the Buffalo Campus newsletter; reported that a dean of students had been hired at the Zanesville Campus and that the bond council presented at the last board meeting to present levy options.
- Ruth Nau gave an update on current proposed legislation, shared NSBA’s proposed changes to the No Child Left Behind Act; and gave an update for next months OSBA Capital Conference.
- Sharon Miller informed the Board that it is Red Ribbon week at the high school and SADD is sponsoring the activities; that the juniors and seniors that need to pass sections of the OGT test are being tested; gave thanks to the Vo. Ag. students for repairing/replacing the guard post in front of SHS; reminded everyone that this is Spirit Week for the Caldwell game on Friday and the annual bonfire will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and that the high school Veteran’s Day Assembly will be November 9th at 8:00 a.m.
- Sandra Goff informed the Board that the K-4 Halloween parties will be this Friday and that November 9th at 9:30 a.m. the elementary school will hold it’s Veteran’s Day Assembly.
- Jeff Croucher shared that he met with Mr. Sneed, Ohio Department of Transportation, and the land transfer for the bridge project is complete and the money is received.
- Dan Doyle informed those in attendance that the petition drive for Getting It Right For Ohio’s Future has collected over half of the required signatures and we must continue to support this effort and also handed out the revised Early Dismissal Procedures.

Treasurer/Superintendent Recommendations:
- Approved the FY08 Five Year Financial Forecast
Superintendent Recommendations Approved:
- Approved classified contracts for: employment of a bus driver to serve as mid-day driver for Pre-K students at the rate of $25.00 per day
- Approved Volunteers for the 2007-08 school year
- Approved Activity Volunteer – Brent Basford – Weight Room Supervisor, Darrell Crum and David Dailey - Varsity Baseball
- Approved Substitutes
- Teacher: Michelle Archer and Jamie Coffelt; Aides: Lisa Merrill and Margaret Mace; Cooks: Barb Cooper and Margaret Mace; and Custodian: Margaret Mace
- Approved Jill Parks and Bonnie Cooper as tutors for special needs student
- Approved Building Use for: Jill Franklin to use SES gym and cafeteria for a benefit on November 18, 2007 and the Noble Local CTA to use SES Cafeteria for the Annual Spaghetti Dinner on April 19, 2008
- Approved contract with Noble County MRDD for special education facilitators
- Approved 7th and 8th grade field trip to Toronto, Canada on May 21 – 23, 2008, and the SHS Choir trip to Atlanta on April 17-19, 2008.
- Approved special transportation contract
- Appointed Jeff Croucher as the Noble Local Board’s designee for public records training as required by HB9
