  About two years ago a history teacher named Mark Withrow created a special news network within the school called ZNN.  His inspiration was sparked from the history teacher, Mr. Pickenpaugh, who created a school newspaper called The Gazette.
 

Another main reason he started ZNN was because he hated to see students sitting in study hall doing nothing.  He wanted to give students a chance to do something fun instead of homework. 
 

The students in ZNN say their job is to create a 15-17 minute show, informing the students of what’s going on inside of Shenandoah High School.
 

Some students like it because “It’s like CNN but for the Zeps.” Another student states, “I wanted to maybe get into broadcasting, and it sounded fun.”
