NLSD Will Provide Lunches For Students Throughout the District Beginning Tuesday

“This is our plan right now, but people need to understand that where we’re at today may not be where we are tomorrow or next week,” said NLSD Superintendent Dan Leffingwell, pointing out the event involves a collaboration of food services, transportation, teachers and staff along with students and other community volunteers.
“Our goals are to keep everybody safe and healthy, both physically and socially/emotionally healthy and part of that is to provide food and support,” he added.

Taking into consideration how beloved Noble County community member Ruth Nau, who spent 32 years on the NLSD Board of Education and who passed away earlier this year, the district is utilizing the hashtag #theNEEDisNAU in conjunction with its plans at the urging of Shenandoah High School Principal Justin Denius.

“Ruth never missed an opportunity to help kids, and this is an opportunity for us to help our kids in her name,” he said.

“She would have been going a million miles an hour to make this happen,” Denius added, “and to honor her, we ensure that this will happen for our kids…not only during this crisis, but hopefully for years and years.”

Superintendent Leffingwell echoed Denius’ sentiments.
